Our Portland Store

Dairy Service

Reliable, quality service - 24 hours a day - 7 days a week.  We pride ourselves in bringing you "Customer Friendly" service.  Our trade mark since 1962 has been quality service.  If you're satisfied with your current dealer, keep us in mind as a back up, in case of an emergency.

Scheduled Maintenance

We offer one of the most complete programs available.  Every customer can help tailor make a program that fits their dairy.  We track each customer  so that we know precisely when their next maintenance is due.  You never have to call to remind us that your maintenance is due.

 Installations

We have several state of the art parlor installations.  Installed by our trained installation crews.  We have many, many years of experience.

Supplies

We offer a full line of high quality supplies at very competitive prices.  We don't require you to buy our supplies to get our best price.  In today's market, we find that customers want your best price with no strings attached.  That also goes for parts and service.

Services

Brown Dairy Equipment has been in the dairy business for over 50 years and we've been lucky enough to learn a thing or two over those years.

Robert Brown established the company in 1962 and worked with local dairy herd owners to offer dairy services and supplies.

In 1968 we hired our first full-time employee, and have grown steadily since. By 2002 Brown Dairy Equipment Company, Inc. employed 14 full-time people with the 7 most experienced employees averaging over 24 years each.

In 1970 we designed, built, and patented the milking cluster wash-in-place unit and wash piping that most dairymen use today.

In 1974 we became a full corporation and continued to grow and add good people to our team. Over the years we think we have assembled the best team to serve the dairy community in the Mid-West. We could not have done this without all of our customers, both past and present. They are the ones that decide if we prosper and grow, or fade away. We know that the future is going to be more challenging for both dairyman and dealer. Our business objective is being your partner, which means we want to sell you the right equipment to do the job you want done, install it properly to make sure it does that job right, and service it to keep it operating properly so you can be successful. In return, we ask you to patronize us for all your parts, service, supplies, etc., as this fulfills your part of the partnership, and assures you that we will be here when you need us for parts and service, 24 hours a day, every day of the year.

In 2002,  Dennis Brown, Robert Brown's son, purchased the company and has expanded to three store locations: McBain in 2006 and Portland in 2011. Our services now include 24/7 Emergency Service, Scheduled Maintenance, Installations, Route Delivery, Project Design with CAD drawings, as well as dairy herd supplies available at each of our locations.
